I’m a 8 year Professional DJ from Raleigh,NC. I Joined band in middle school and continued through high school (BROUGHTON HIGH SCHOOL) so I could really grasp the concept of music theory. I can fluently play 4 instruments (Drums, piano, bass, & guitar). But got majority of my knowledge from being a church musician. I got interested in DJING when I got out the military I started doing security at a variety of nightclubs for about 10 years. Over those years I heard numerous of djs and memorized 100s of sets. So one of my favorite dj friends whom I got close with through the years invited me over to this house one day. He had his equipment out, and was messing around. So I just sat back and actually just watched him. And as years went by I kept thinking why keep settling for this security pay when I can actually get paid to do something that I love and get paid more to do it and everyone leaving with my vibe versus always angry and ready to fight. So I knew that if I could learn to dj I could control how the night ended. so my friend proceeded to show me how the equipment work, from the controller to the software.
As time went by and I literally just practiced, practiced, practiced. He took me on private gigs in which he let me kinda do the warm up set and start learning how to read the crowd and learning song selection. And before we knew it he was calling me to fill in for him at other gigs.
Years later, I have grown to become one of the most favorable djs in my city. In which have spun at almost every hip hop club in the surrounding area.
As of Labor Day weekend 2022 I started my RADIO CAREER and not only was it my first time it was on one of the biggest radio networks in the country Radio one/Urban One WQOK RALEIGH K97.5 and when I say I had no clue what to do and not realizing how structured radio is compared to private events and clubs, ill advise any dj to learn how to dj playlist format now because if you do not know to do so its going to almost break you!!! Promise me. Also in that same year I joined FLEET DJS., in which I’m now the STATE MANAGER for the State of NORTH CAROLINA. And not to Bragg but got state of the year in my first year as SM. Music is my life and passion, its my getaway when I perform I just do it for the love of taking people away form the troubles even if it just for a few hours.
