I am Daniel McNair. I was born and raised in Paterson, NJ and relocated with family to Virginia in the 90’s. I was in an era where music and lyricism mattered and when hip hop was in its infancy stage. I’ve always had a love for music whether it was me observing and listening to my mother playing her crates of albums or me trying to scratch on her record player. The craft, music, art, sounds and beats helped me develop the love for desiring to become a DJ. If it was a park jam in my neighborhood, I considered that a teachable moment for me as I was there observing the DJ do his thing. Moving forward in life, I began to take being a DJ seriously about 10 years ago. I’ve been a Barber/Owner for over 30 years which is also another passion I have sustained in my lifetime. I am also the founder of BlackOut Radio station which I conveyed over with my journey to being a Fleet member. This station allows Dj’s to be themselves while playing different genres of music for all. As a Fleet member for 3 years, I’ve cultivated with my skills while appreciating the organization and meeting new like-minded individuals that share the same passion as myself.
